Ethan Allen Interior Designer/Sales Position Job Description:
Beautiful 12,000 sq.fts Showroom at Eastview Mall, New Computers, Phone System, Sound System, IPADS, etc. All Showroom Inventory new within last 2 years. Designer Toyota Camry with all Showroom Samples.

This is a great opportunity for a qualified designer to put together a nice career furnishing homes in the greater Rochester area. We offer the complete interior design solution including complimentary design service (YOU!), custom case goods, custom upholstery, quick ship upholstery, custom artwork, re-upholstery, bedding, a full range of lighting and accessories, custom hard (priority Hunter Douglas dealer) and soft window treatments, wall to wall carpeting. In-house delivery/service team, in-house window treatment installer. 75% of our products are vertically integrated made by Ethan Allen in their North American Workshops.

Must be willing to work weekends and some nights (open until 8:00PM on Monday and Friday). Compensation/Hours:
-a successful full time designer compensation ranges from $30,000 to $60,000 annually
-35-40 hrs./wk. includes 28-32 hours of floor coverage and 4-6 hrs./wk. of home calls
-Approximate commission: 6% + bonus - 3-6 weeks of paid training
-additional bonus for each Guardsman protection plan sold
-health insurance plan offered
General Objectives, Specific Responsibilities, Requirements, Company Description below:

The Interior Designer works closely with the customer in the design center/studio and at the customer’s home to create individualized design solutions and to sell Ethan Allen products and services exclusively. The designs include space planning, fabric coordination, product selection and overall project design. Successful execution is evidenced by developing individualized designs and achieving sales goals in a commission-based selling environment representing Ethan Allen products and services.

• The Interior Designer creates design solutions by selling Ethan Allen products and services that are consistent with the customer’s preference and budget.
• Customarily and regularly (typically on a weekly basis) make home calls to evaluate the customer’s needs and provide a total individualized design solution that closes the sale.
• Educate customers about the complimentary design service Ethan Allen provides, offering as little or as much design or home furnishing service as a customer desires.
• Remain current on design and color trends to create fashionable design solutions.
• Coordinate with the team to provide exceptional service to customers, before and after the sale, by promptly keeping customers informed of their order status including any delays.
• Participate as required in all local and corporate sponsored marketing and training programs, as well as local grass-roots marketing efforts both at the design center and independently.
• Educate customers on all the Ethan Allen sponsored finance options available to them.
• Contribute towards the development and on-going upkeep of the team’s design portfolio.
• Utilize the systems and technology available to maximize efficiency in designing projects, creating presentations and providing professional home furnishing service for the design center’s customers.
• Work cooperatively in maintaining a neat and orderly Design Center projection.
• Perform any other duties as required
Required to work some holidays and weekends.
An entrepreneurial attitude and approach with strong communication and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to practice residential interior design including the ability to design and create projects using technical and creative skills in color and space planning. Proven experience with in-home consultative design service or related home furnishings and décor industry. Must be able to work holidays, evenings and weekends.
